The race car:

  • Originally built as a '69 Torino for NASCAR racing by John Nissen and driven by J.C. Danielson - changed to a Mercury for aerodynamic reasons when the '70/'71 Montego/Cyclone body style was introduced: track record at Skagit Speedway in '72, 9th at Riverside in '73 … Began racing SCCA Super Production in '99 and NASA Super Unlimited in '06
  • Updated by Hall Fabrication & Racing with Robison chassis design in ’06, including 10" wheelbase reduction: space frame, 54% rear weight, long arm front suspension and adjustable Ford Cortina/Lotus 7 style rear suspension
  • Tony Oddo (T.O.E.) 555c.i. Big Block Ford, C-heads, Peterson/Stefs dry sump, G-force 5spd., Tilton clutch, Ohlins shocks, Alcon/Wilwood brakes, 18" Kodiak wheels, race radial tires
  • Has run 1:42s at Infineon Raceway (Sears Point), 1:53s at Thunderhill and 1:30s at Laguna Seca weighing ~3,700 pounds with 32 gallons of fuel & driver
